Who handles your data. Garatelier — Cecilia Maran, via Antonio Rossi 88, 35030 Rubano (PD), Italy. For anything to do with this page: info@garatelier.com.
This site collects very little, and the little it collects is there so we can reply to you. There is no advertising, there is no profiling, and we neither sell nor pass on anyone’s address. Everything is set out below, in order.
What we collect, and why
If you write from the forms on the site
The Open studio and Contact forms ask for your name, your email address, the kind of enquiry and whatever you write in the message.
They are there so we can answer you: without an address we cannot. The legal basis is your consent, given by ticking the box before you send (art. 6.1.a GDPR); for what happens afterwards — agreeing on a day in the workshop, on a project — the processing serves to act on your request (art. 6.1.b).
Along with the message the site records the date, time and IP address of whoever sends it. This is how a real enquiry is told apart from an automated submission, and it serves to show when consent was given.
If you sign up to the newsletter
We ask only for your email address, and we ask you to tick a box that speaks explicitly about email: work in progress, openings, open calls and events coming up. Legal basis: your consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR).
Consent to the newsletter is kept separate from consent on the contact forms, because they are two different things: writing to us does not mean you want our news.
You can unsubscribe whenever you like, by writing to info@garatelier.com. No reason is needed and there are no intermediate steps.
If you send us an email
If you write directly to info@garatelier.com we handle what you send us — address, name, content — for as long as it takes to reply and, if something comes of it, for as long as we work together.
Where they end up, and how long they stay
Form data sits in the database of this site, hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., which acts as our data processor and keeps its servers within the European Union.
Contact enquiries are kept for two years from the last exchange, then deleted. Newsletter subscribers stay until they unsubscribe.
We do not transfer data outside the European Union.
Who else sees them
No one, apart from Cecilia Maran and whoever works on the technical side of the site — CTRL+G, who built it and maintain it, and who handle the data as processor, for that alone.
The data is not passed to third parties, is not used to profile anyone, and feeds no automated decision-making.
What rights you have
At any time, and without formality, you can ask:
- to know what data we hold about you and to receive a copy of it;
- to have it corrected, if it is wrong or incomplete;
- to have it deleted;
- to restrict or object to the processing;
- to receive it in a readable format so you can take it elsewhere;
- to withdraw the consent you gave us, without that affecting what was done before.
Write to info@garatelier.com and you will have an answer within a month, usually much sooner.
If you think something is wrong, you can turn to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
If you give us someone else’s details
It happens that people write on behalf of a group, or leave a colleague’s contact. If you do, we ask you to make sure they agree: we handle those details by the same rules, but the relationship with that person is yours.
Children
This site is not aimed at children under fourteen and does not knowingly collect their data. If you notice it has, write to us and we will delete it.
If this page changes
If something substantial changes we rewrite it and change the date below. We do not carry consents over from one version to the next: if a new consent is needed, we ask you for it.
